Texas A&M baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle addresses rumors about departing for another job in emphatic fashion

Coming off of a loss in the College World Series may not be the best time to ask a question like this, but amid the rumors that have been forced into the zeitgeist by burnt orange-wearing hucksters, Texas A&M baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle found himself in the position to answer a question about whether he will be returning to Aggieland next year.

For the final question of the presser, Texags's Richard Zane put the question to Schloss: what do you have to say about your status going forward with Texas A&M? You can view his emphatic response in the tweet below, and I have also transcribed it below that.

"I left my family to be the coach at Texas A&M. I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again. And that hasn't changed in my mind. That's unfair to talk about something like that, that'd be like you asking Montgomery if he's going to sign in the draft, but I understand you gotta ask the question. But I gave up a big part of my life to come take this job, and I've poured every ounce of my soul in this job. And I've given this job every single ounce I can possibly give it. Write that."

That's about as straightforward as the man can be. I have never really had any doubt that he was leaving, but for those overcome with BAS, this is no doubt a reassurance on what has otherwise been an upsetting evening.

There really is no reason for Schlossnagle to leave, either. He has a much better gig in College Station than he would ever have in Austin, and he has the program in a much better place than the Longhorns have been in the last two decades. That didn't stop Texas fans from completely embarrassing themselves over the past couple of weeks drooling over him, but that behavior has come to be expected.

Schloss is in Aggieland for the long haul. His time for a national championship with the Aggies is coming, and I think it'll be sooner rather than later.
