Final preseason depth chart projection for Texas A&M football ahead of game week
Texas A&M football roster predictions - DE: Shemar Stewart, Nic Scourton (Backups: Rylan Kennedy, Josh Celiscar)
If the tackles are great, the ends will be astronomically good. With a healthy year, Stewart and Scourton can form the most feared tandem in the entire conference—and, resultantly, the whole nation—if things go right.
You don’t need me to tell you any more about what Scourton can do. He led the Big 10 in sacks, which should be reputation enough. Any Ags who doubted his bona fides only need to watch the spring game, though, to see that this is a guy who isn’t messing around.
Scourton wrecked shop nearly every snap he was out there during that game. His presence was felt in the run game and pass rush, as he decimated every offensive lineman who lined up across from him.
Stewart, who has been an NFL prototype since he stepped on campus, really began to round into form near the end of last year. I’m excited to see what he can do this year opposite Scourton; he’s certainly set some high goals for himself.
Rylan Kennedy is an interesting name that flies under the radar often, but we could see no. 15 make an impact in cleanup duty behind Stewart and Scourton. Celiscar, the spring enrollee from UCF, helps round out this group with some seniority at the position.
