Texas A&M football final injury report ahead of Texas A&M football against Arkansas: Conner Weigman, TJ Shanahan, and more
After coming into the year relatively healthy, Texas A&M football has had some injury issues so far this year. They’ve lost three players for the remainder of the season to injury in Rueben Owens, Mark Nabou, and Tyreek Chappell, and have been hampered week to week at other spots.
Of course, the most significant—and most controversial—among these injuries is the shoulder issue that QB Conner Weigman has been dealing with. After no. 15 got through 1.5 games, taking a seat halfway through the McNeese game after leading A&M to five straight touchdowns, it has been all Marcel Reed.
Due no doubt to the frustration stemming from Weigman’s performance against Notre Dame, there have been a lot of fans wanting to stick with Reed as the guy going forward, though those calls have lessened in volume and frequency after the Bowling Green game. Reports have emerged that Weigman has practiced this week, however, so the question arises: who will play for Texas A&M against Arkansas?
Who will play for Texas A&M football vs. Arkansas?
According to the most recent injury report, released last night, there are only four Aggies set to miss this game for sure: the three aforementioned players who are out for the year, as well as center TJ Shanahan.
This would make it seem that the Aggies are quite thin at center, but Elko has intimated that they’ve been cross-training other players, such as Kam Dewberry, at that spot.
Enai White and Weigman are both officially listed as questionable. White has been out since the middle of last season with a knee injury, so it would be great to have him back. Weigman’s status is still as shrouded in mystery as ever, and it may not be until game time that we have a solid answer, especially remembering the roller coaster ride of his rumored availability headed up to Florida.
We will keep this article updated with any news regarding White, Weigman, or any other injured players.
UPDATE 1:13 PM CT: Conner Weigman’s status has been updated to OUT. Enai White does not appear on the final injury report.
