Bold predictions for Texas A&M football as they confront the Bowling Green Falcons

This should really be much more of a relaxing week for Texas A&M football fans than it has been. All the arguments over the quarterback are one thing, but now we have this game against Bowling Green.

This should normally be one that the Ags take care of pretty easily. And, to be clear, this is not an opponent that rises to the level of an SEC foe. But this also isn’t, say, Louisiana-Monroe. The Falcons really have something going this year.

Even so, I think we see a convincing win by the Aggies. Here are five bold predictions for what we may see in this one.

300+ yards of rushing again

The Aggies have exceeded 300 yards on the ground in two straight games. Can they make it three? I believe so. The Falcons have a ferocious pass rush, but the A&M offensive line can neutralize that with their solid rushing attack.

Hold Falcons under 20 points

This one is really bold. A staunch Penn State defense allowed 27 at home to BGSU, who jumped all over the Nittany Lions right from the word go. If the Ags keep the Falcons under 20, that’s a great sign going forward.

Many disgruntled fans

I think there is probably a fair share of Aggie fans who are coming into this one without giving heed to the fact that BGSU is actually a pretty decent squad. Because of this, I think we see plenty of upset Aggie faithful when the game feels like it’s closer than it should be.

Red zone improvement

Through three games, the red zone has been pretty problematic for the Aggies. They’re not doing a great job of stopping teams once they get inside the 20; the thing is just that they don’t allow many trips down there. I think A&M can make some hay here against BGSU if the Falcons put together a drive, and begin to reverse this trend.

More quarterback controversy

It really doesn’t matter who starts—and I’m not sure that’s a determination that’s even been made at this point. The camps have become so entrenched at this point that the sniping at each other will simply continue for yet another week. As I said previously, it won’t be until Missouri at the absolute earliest that this will clear up.
