Five bold predictions for Texas A&M football vs. Notre Dame: Terry Bussey scores a touchdown

For all the buzz around freshman Terry Bussey, the Aggies—in an official capacity—have been somewhat mum about how he may or may not contribute. I think we can safely label this “gamesmanship,” as a player with this level of explosive ability cannot be left on the sidelines, especially when you consider the need for that kind of juice at the receiver position.

I don’t know for sure what kind of snaps Bussey will see at the receiver spot, but it seems likely that he will get the ball in his hands at least to some degree as a punt returner. The only official depth chart that we yet have lists him as a first-teamer at that spot, and with a defensive battle like we are anticipating, that means he will have plenty of opportunity to return some kicks.

That said, I think we still see Bussey play some at wideout. Whether he’s out there running routes with Thomas, Walker, and Allen, or he comes in just to get a pop pass on a sweep play, I think we see Klein get a way to get the ball in his hands.

When he gets an opportunity, I foresee him taking advantage in a big way. Whether it’s in the return game or as a receiver, I think we see Terry Bussey snag his first collegiate touchdown against the Irish; the first of doubtless many to come.
