Most painful Texas A&M football transfers of all time: 3. Kyle Allen

Allen was a five-star recruit out of Phoenix, Arizona. He came in as part of the 2014 group that included fellow five-stars Myles Garrett and Speedy Noil (it's funny the spectrum those three now represent).

As a freshman, Allen began to make an impact despite early-season Heisman buzz for original starter Kenny Hill. After Hill began to crater (there's a pun there somewhere probably), Allen took the reins. His first start against ULM was rocky, but his second game, he led the Aggies to a win on the road against a top-3 Auburn team.

He closed the season in an up-and-down fashion, but he entered the 2015 season as the presumed starter, which he ended up being. I'm going to have to save some of this story for a slide a little later on (this hardly counts as spoilers for what's coming, honestly), but circumstances transpired that led to Allen leaving.

This hit was mitigated by the addition of Trevor Knight over the next offseason, but had Allen remained in Aggieland, he could have risen to great heights. Some may remember him for his three-pick-six game against Alabama and nothing more, but he was legitimately very talented. This whole situation is quite the bad memory for Aggie fans.
