Most painful Texas A&M football transfers of all time: 2. Tyree Wilson

A somewhat unheralded low four-star recruit out of New London, Texas, Tyree Wilson arrived to Texas A&M as part of Jimbo Fisher's transition class. The minds of Aggie fans during this cycle were occupied with flipping Bobby Brown from Alabama and closing out on guys like Leon O'Neal, so Wilson slipped through the cracks a little bit.

He remained in College Station for two years, where he saw the field sparingly. Wilson made a few appearances in 2018 and 2019, but he wasn't much more than a rotation piece for the Aggies.

As such, it wasn't a huge talking point when he announced that he would transfer. He ended up at Texas Tech, furthering the impression in A&M fans' minds that he was a guy who couldn't cut it at that level.

As it turns out, that impression couldn't have been more wrong. In an eventuality no Aggie fan saw coming, Wilson developed into a complete monster off the edge, growing into a top-7 NFL draft pick by the time he left Lubbock in 2022.

Texas A&M football continued to have a dominant defensive line, but they haven't had a player selected that highly since Myles Garrett in 2017. Just imagine if Wilson had stuck around with the Aggies!
