Five Texas A&M football players whose stock is rising after spring football
Texas A&M football players with rising stock after spring football: Nic Scourton
I know I have already written a couple of columns practically gushing about Scourton’s potential, but it bears repeating. This is a guy that came in with the highest of expectations, being the highest-rated transfer that A&M landed this past winter, and he looks like he may even surpass those.
His game-wrecking potential was on full display in the short preview we got in the spring game. Practically every single snap he was on the field was one where he was making a substantial positive impact for the defense,
It’s true that he was, at times, lined up against a second-string offensive lineman. However, the moves and physical ability he displayed against every matchup were reason enough for A&M fans to get excited.
Let me emphasize this: I expected big things out of Scourton coming into the spring, and his addition was a strong reason I felt great about the defensive line this spring. However, I really think I’m even more excited now about his potential than I was before the spring began. The fall has yet to arrive, but I truly believe that Scourton will live up to—and exceed—the billing he had coming into College Station.
