Texas A&M football announces full rosters for Maroon and White spring game

It's hard to believe, but in fewer than three days we will see the Texas A&M football team take the field in Kyle. For an exhibition? Sure. But it's football all the same!

With the date drawing ever-nearer, Aggie fans are beginning to get more and more excited for what we may see out of the squad come this weekend. Though it's hard to draw a lot of solid conclusions from spring games, I put out an initial list of things that we might be able to get more information on once we see the team play on Saturday, and will keep previewing over these next couple of days.

We now have an even better idea of how things will look in the game after the Aggie football Twitter account released the rosters. Recently-elected team captains Trey Zuhn and Taurean York drafted their squads last night—here are the results.

As you can see, Zuhn had an emphasis at wide receiver and offensive line. Most of the projected starters at both positions ended up on his squad!

As you might expect from a defensive guy, York placed his emphasis on that side of the ball. DJ Hicks, Shemar Stewart, Bryce Anderson, Tyreek Chappell, and obviously York himself were all selections for the White squad.

You can already see some exciting matchups materializing here. Though Conner Weigman is on the White team, I'm excited to see how the matchup goes when the Maroon offense faces off against the White defense. Though, now that it comes up, watching Weigman operate against some of these transfer defensive backs will be exciting as well—though he may have to speed up his operation when he's facing off against Nic Scourton on the other side of the ball.

It's almost here in earnest, Texas A&M football fans. This game is the last real morsel we'll get for 100+ days, so let's savor it once it's here—even though it is just an exhibition.
