How Aggie Baseball could help Texas A&M football land a top-10 player in the country

The A&M baseball team is hosting a big time super regional this weekend. Here’s how that could help Texas A&M football land their best recruit yet in 2025.

Texas A&M football hosting one of their top targets this weekend; Could Aggie baseball give an assist in this five-star recruitment?

I’ve written a lot about how huge this weekend is for Texas A&M football recruiting. There’s so much talent on campus over the next few days, and the Aggies need to capitalize in a big way.

Among the number of the five stars making their way to campus this weekend for a visit is Galveston safety Jonah Williams. Williams is an elite athlete who can play both safety and linebacker, though the Aggies would likely utilize him at safety for the lion’s share of his snaps in Elko’s scheme.

A top-ten player in the country, Williams is one of the most highly-sought-after talents in the entire nation. Though it was the Oklahoma Sooners who were out in front for quite some time here, the Aggies seem to have taken the lead for the time being. The second-place team, if you believe the recruiting scuttlebutt, is the Oregon Ducks.

The Ducks, of course, are also sending their baseball team to Aggieland this weekend for the Super Regional. The Aggies stand a great shot at advancing to the CWS, especially given how kind Olsen has been to the team this year, and so most Aggies are very much looking forward to this weekend’s action on the diamond.

Could it be possible that the Aggies bring Williams over to Olsen to observe some of the proceedings? I wouldn’t rule it out. And before you say this is unrelated, Jonah is a very talented baseball prospect who has said publicly that he has been in contact with the baseball staff at each of his finalists. With that in mind, I think he may take a special interest in what’s going on this weekend at Blue Bell.

Ultimately, do I think a Super Regional win for the Aggies would put them over the top in the recruitment of a five-star safety? No, I don’t think that would be a deciding factor. But the doubtless-amazing environment that will be present this weekend sure couldn’t hurt—especially for a guy who may be picturing himself playing out there over the next couple of years.
