Texas A&M has a tough task to hold the fort for home field this weekend.
It's been widely known as one of the best atmospheres in college football, and this weekend will be no different.
The Aggies have been one of the more consistent teams at home. But on the road, it's been a different story.
However, one take against the Aggies at home against conference opponents isn't doing too hot.
Aggies quietly decent at home vs SEC teams
College football analysts always talk about how important home field advantage is.
It's fairly normal because it can make-or-break any team on the road. It's a college environment. Anything can happen.
This post on X needs context, respectfully.
Texas A&M actually has 7 SEC wins at home since 2021 and actually have 2 SEC wins on the road since 2021.
This is something that does make a difference in the college game. You can be as powerful as you need to be at home, but the great teams make it work no matter where they are.
Take the Dallas Cowboys for example. They had won 16 consecutive home wins before they got mauled by the New Orleans Saints last month. On the road, they were just different sometimes.
The great teams got to make it work both ways, but the Aggies can get some great national recognition for Mike Elko if they beat Missouri this weekend.
Has Florida football been disappointing? All college football fans can agree and say yes.
The point is, the better teams overall are the better teams overall. It doesn't really matter who has more than just at home. If a team who lost all four of their games at home goes to the Super Bowl and wins, nobody will really be talking about that narrative anymore.
Of course, this is not a comparison to if Texas A&M were to win a national championship.
The better team is what matters, and that's what will matter come Saturday when A&M hosts Missouri.
