Jordan Rodgers of SEC Network outlines why fans should be high on Conner Weigman

There are quite a few questions about Texas A&M football's situation at quarterback. Jordan Rodgers, for one, is confident in the Aggies' man.

Jordan Rodgers is as high on Texas A&M football's Conner Weigman as anyone: 'Underappreciated and overlooked'

I've spilled a lot of ink (or whatever the digital equivalent would be) about the sky-high potential for Conner Weigman going forward into this year. There are some outlets who see the vision for why #15 can make some noise going into this season—such as Pro Football Focus, who said that Weigman could be the first QB off the board this spring—and there are some that aren't.

I guess we can count Jordan Rodgers of SEC Network as one who is buying in on Weigman. According to Rodgers, he has Weigman as the fifth-best QB in the conference—and he almost put him even higher than that!

As you can see in the above video from Saturday Down South, Rodgers bases a lot of his optimism on what we saw out of Weigman in the Miami game from last year. He specifically mentions the number of big time throws that Conner was making—against, as I have mentioned, near-unrelenting pressure coming from all angles, cooked up by Miami DC Lance Guidry.

He concludes with the thought that this kind of talent in Klein's offense—one that "actually to make it difficult on the defense before the snap"—that Weigman could be in for a huge year. I would have to agree, but I'd also add that this is incumbent on the offensive line taking a step forward, as I believe they have a great shot at doing under Adam Cushing.

There's certainly a lot of hype building around Conner Weigman this offseason. I think it's justified—so, apparently, does Jordan Rodgers. We still have games to play, obviously, but I think August 31 will mark the beginning of a huge breakout year for #15 in Maroon and White.
