3 reasons Marcel Reed should be QB1 for Texas A&M football: Can run better than Weigman

We know the emphasis that Collin Klein has had on running the quarterback in his previous two years at Kansas State. That looks like it’s a really big part of his offensive system, as we could tell from the designed rushes that Reed had throughout the day on Saturday.

I don’t think there’s any question who the better runner is between these two players. Reed’s speed, suddenness, and ability in the open field make him a supreme weapon in that aspect of the game.

If the offense is going to reach its full potential, they need a dynamic runner taking the snaps. I get that Reed isn’t quite the passer that Weigman is, but Weigman is nowhere near the runner that Reed is.

The Aggies found their identity as a ground-based attack on Saturday. Reed compliments that to a degree that Weigman just can’t. If they want to rise to the occasion, they need to have him back there as the signal caller.
