Making the argument: 3 reasons Texas A&M football should go with Marcel Reed as QB1
3 reasons Marcel Reed should be QB1 for Texas A&M football: Upside is through the roof
Here’s the most exciting part about Reed: we haven’t even seen his ceiling yet. He was forced into action in the Texas Bowl and ended up with nearly 400 yards through the air—the best passing yardage total of the year against anyone not named UL-Monroe.
The heights to which this guy can rise are not yet known. But we have to keep in mind that what we’ve seen so far is the rawest he’ll ever look. And if the rawest he’ll ever look is these performances against Oklahoma State and Florida—well, that’s exciting upside to say the least.
Fans just need some hope at this point. We were promised something with Weigman, and he didn’t deliver against Notre Dame. McNeese is McNeese—you can’t really take anything from that. Now that they’ve given the reins to Reed, he needs to keep them.
He’s only going to get better from here against these upcoming defenses. His development needs to be prioritized at this point—it’s clear that Weigman just isn’t the future in College Station…. Or is it?
Stay tuned for the case for Weigman.
