Ole Miss fan tries to dunk on Jimbo Fisher with creepy photo, gets dunked on instead
Ole Miss fan on Twitter tries to make fun of Jimbo Fisher and has it backfire immediately
Former Texas A&M football coach Jimbo Fisher isn't exactly a guy who is warmly thought of in College Station at the moment. The majority of the Aggie faithful were happy to see him go in the end.
Even so, there are limits to the dislike. Though there were several fans that let their frustration boil over to personal attacks while Jimbo was still around, though those few were usually roundly criticized by the rest of the fanbase.
The national criticism and discussion around Jimbo reached a fever pitch in the 2023 season. Since his firing, though, most people have moved on from the jabs and jokes that were somewhat ubiquitous in that timeframe.
Others, however, still apparently consider it evergreen content. Unsurprisingly, it was an Ole Miss fan (apparently convinced he can operate in secrecy under the name "College Football Headlines" on Twitter, though his "likes" tab gives the game away pretty quickly) who thought he could get some positive feedback with... this post.
First of all... this is a strange photo to take. Why is anyone taking creepshots of a man in his 50s while he's at the gym? This does appear to be a repost, so I don't think the Ole Miss fan running the account actually took the photo, but the question still stands.
Second, why are you posting about the buyout? That was the most recent talking point regarding Fisher, yes, but that was still a couple of months ago. That doesn't really make it more relevant. Unless, I guess, you're trying to say that he should spring for a better gym setup than Planet Fitness.
Most who saw this post sensed how strange it was. It didn't take long for "College Football Headlines" to start to get cooked in the replies.
The quote tweets are an entertaining ride, as well, including this first one from Jimbo's own son.
"College Football Headlines" could feel the tide was turning. It was time for a maneuver. His strategy of choice? Saying he didn't take the photo while awkwardly referring to himself in the third person.
Masterfully done.
