Texas A&M football passing offense vs. Notre Dame passing defense
There's no way around the fact that the Irish boast maybe the best pair of cover corners in the nation. Especially when you consider the fact that the Aggies are still going to be searching for a number-one receiver, this could be really tough sledding.
My hunch is that the Irish's defensive coordinator, Al Golden, will be content to leave his guys out on an island, for the most part. They certainly have the pure skill to play that part with aplomb, but there will be some opportunities for the Aggies underneath if they have some patience.
As with the Irish, keep an eye on the tight end position for the Aggies. Klein loves to utilize his TEs in creative ways, so Weigman may have the opportunity to find the big pass-catchers in the short pass game more than once.
No. 15 is the difference-maker here. With a lesser player in the pocket for the Ags, this would be a runaway advantage for the Irish. In this case, though, his skill is enough to bump up the Aggies a notch or two—but until we know more at receiver, I can't give them too much credit.
