Positional matchups for Texas A&M football vs. Mizzou: A&M pass game vs. Tiger pass defense
This is the toughest thing to predict. The quarterback selection will have cascading effects here. I think if it’s Reed we see, this is a decided advantage for the Tigers; if we see Weigman, this is closer to a push. I’ll have to split the difference here.
Matchup advantage: Tigers by 3
Positional matchups for Texas A&M football vs. Mizzou: A&M run game vs. Tiger run defense
This one is a little closer. The Aggies have had a solid run game this season, even when teams have committed completely irresponsible numbers of players to the box. Missouri has been stout up front, though, and it could be tough sledding if they take that same tack. I’ll give a slight edge to the Tigers here.
Matchup advantage: Tigers by 1
Positional matchups for Texas A&M football vs. Mizzou: A&M OL vs. Tiger pass rush
Mizzou has not exactly been prolific at producing pressure so far, which makes sense given who they lost off of last year’s squad. However, there are still some points of worry for the Aggie offensive line, especially given the recent injury report for the Ags. A&M’s sack rate allowed has been excellent, though, and both Weigman and Reed have done a great job avoiding sacks when pressure does get home.
Matchup advantage: Aggies by 2
