Power ranking the SEC after Media Days: #6 OIe Miss Rebels

. 6. . Ole Miss. . . Previous ranking: 4. 532. .

The pillow soft schedule twins find themselves here, on the cusp of mediocrity. Yes, the Rebs have a favorable slate and a big time portal class incoming, but I'm not so sure things gel the way everyone is imagining they do down in Oxford.

Juice Wells played well for the Gamecocks the last two years, but I'm not convinced he's everything that people have made him out to be. Tre Harris is definitely a good player. But—and I know how this sounds in this pass-heavy era—have we all forgotten what went out the door at the running back position?

Quinshon Judkins was a legitimate star at the tailback position. For the reputation that Kiffin carries for high-flying, exciting passing offense, he is still built around the run game being effective. That's why he has such trouble getting past teams like UGA and Alabama, who consistently boast excellent rush defenses.

If a Judkins-less Rebels team begins to struggle in the run game, then that could spell trouble. I guess I'm not sure where on their schedule, outside of Georgia, they would have such struggles, though.

Also, they have Walter Nolen.
