Power ranking the SEC after Media Days: #14 Arkansas

Arkansas. . 14. . 524. . . . Previous ranking: 15.

Arkansas moves up a whole slot—cause for celebration! The more I've thought about the marriage between the Hogs and Bobby Petrino—the second such union, of course—the more I've thought that it, if nothing else, raises the ceiling just ever so slightly.

Of course, that's a ceiling the Hogs will be looking to hit that does not include our good friends KJ Jefferson (now in Orlando looking to be the second coming of Cam Newton under Gus Malzahn) or Rocket Sanders (now a member of the South Carolina Gamecocks). Who does that leave for Arky on the offensive side?

Not a whole lot! Isaac TeSlaa? Luke Hasz? At least the young TE still has a lot of untapped potential after being sidelined with a shoulder injury against the Aggies early in last season.

If you ask any Hog fan, though, they'll tell you how excited they are about young Taylen Green, who really flashed some skills in the spring game. If the combo of his ability and Petrino's playcalling (how much was he hamstrung by Jimbo last year?) can soften the dropoff from KJ, then maybe the Hogs can get to six wins? Seven? An early-season test in Stillwater won't be easy. And we know Ollie Gordon will be playing, really no matter what he does.

Don't ask me about their defense.
