Power ranking the SEC after Media Days: #11 Kentucky Wildcats

. 528. UK. . Previous ranking: 10. . . . . 11

Let's get one thing straight: Mark Stoops is at Kentucky. He is at Kentucky, because he is still the coach there. Does he still want to be the coach there? Let me state this as clearly as I can, Jack: he—he is... he is at Kentucky.

Okay, in all seriousness, this is a team that has the chance to enter this season and start off quickly with some absolutely abysmal vibes. I'm talking completely rancid energy here. Knowing your coach was basically one foot out the door before he was essentially turned back by the school he was about to abandon you for is... I don't really know! It can't feel good!

On the football side of things... It's Kentucky. Barion Brown is good. Brock Vandagriff... used to be highly-rated. Deonte Walker is really, really good at least.

I don't think another halting offense and ferocious defense is enough for the fans in Lexington, though; the problem is that I don't know that Stoops, philosophically speaking, wants to do anything different from that. That's part of why A&M fans were so unremittingly hostile to the idea of bringing him to College Station.

Just win in Austin, please. That would be cool of you to
