Even though many teams played cupcake opponents, there was plenty of movement in this week's edition of the SEC power rankings.

Power ranking the SEC after week 1: No. 4 - Ole Miss

. . . abfajhgfhgh. 532. . . 4. Previous ranking: 6.

I was sandbagging to a certain degree on the Rebels before, but I’m starting to buy in a little bit. I know Furman is a complete nothing opponent, but I liked what I saw out of the Rebel defense in particular in this one.

They could have run up more than 76, but they pulled back in the fourth quarter. There are some issues with consistency, again, but the explosiveness is tough to deny on the offensive end.

Jaxson Dart continues to play well in this Kiffin offense. It seems both personality-wise and as regards playstyle, he and his coach are a perfect match.

Much like Missouri, Ole Miss has a slate of complete cupcakes for a while before they face their first difficult game. I’ll be interested to see how they handle a visit to Columbia, SC (even though the Gamecocks could be an easy win themselves) followed by a trip to Death Valley early on in this schedule.
