Even though many teams played cupcake opponents, there was plenty of movement in this week's edition of the SEC power rankings.

Power ranking the SEC after week 1: No. 1 - Georgia

. . . 527. 1. . . agsdaasdf. Previous ranking: 1. team

Hands-down, the most impressive game of the weekend goes to the Dawgs. It was a slog in the first half against an impressive Clemson defense, but the Georgia D was positively ferocious.

UGA ended up having to rely on their explosives in this game. Their success rate wasn’t stellar (42%), but I’d wager that will end up being one of the higher numbers that Clemson defense allows all year.

If there’s one thing I’d nitpick, it’s the weapons that the Bulldogs have in the passing game. Lovett has potential, but he needs to step up a little bit more. London Humphreys, the Vanderbilt transfer, has some potential too, but didn’t really pop off the screen in this one.

Carson Beck was impressive as expected, even against a ferocious defensive unit. His accuracy and the run game will carry this Bulldog team this year to whatever heights they can achieve.

We didn’t get to see Trevor Etienne in this one, but adding him to a guy like Nate Frazier (who really announced himself in this game) will make this rushing attack even deadlier than what we saw against Clemson.
