Power ranking the SEC after week 6: #4 - Ole Miss

The Rebs cobbled together a road victory, despite another subpar offensive performance. Even though this one was decisive in the final analysis, Rebel fans have to be pretty unhappy with the way the offense looked in this game.

Things just were disjointed and sloppy. When the Rebs did break big plays, they didn’t quite hit the same. I’m thinking especially of Juice Wells’ fumble through the end zone (which the Carolina student section absolutely loved, by the way).

But that defense for the Rebs looked a lot better, which is something. That’s been a missing component for Ole Miss over these last few years with Kiffin. Even with those Land Shark defenses under Hugh Freeze, there was still something missing that could have taken them to the next level.

Now, I’m not sure the Rebs can measure up to a team like UGA, but you never know. We’lll find out later this year, I suppose.
