Power ranking the SEC after week 6: #15 - Florida

The Gators beat UCF, which I did not think they would do at the beginning of the season. As it happens, their defense looked downright competent at times, which is a big step for them!

I almost put them above Auburn this week. They’ve drawn much closer to 14 than they were to last place as of the previous couple of weeks, but I still haven’t quite seen enough from them—and Auburn keeps looking halfway decent at times.

One of the difficult things about these ratings is sussing out where a teams’ ceiling is, where their floor is, and how close they are to which one at the moment. UF certainly has a much higher ceiling than MSU, and they may have a higher ceiling than Auburn, but they are going to need to string together more than one performance in a row here.

Also, UCF apparently may not be that good! They lost to Colorado, after all, and their biggest win—TCU—also looks to be pretty bad. Who can say?
