Power ranking the SEC after week 6: Aggies continue ascent, others slide after upsets
Power ranking the SEC after week 6: #8 - UK
The Wildcats were idle this week after last weekend’s big victory over Ole Miss. They are sticking at the same spot as last week thanks to some teams above them falling and some teams below them rising.
The Cats have an unforeseen challenge awaiting them in the Vanderbilt Commodores this upcoming weekend. This is a Kentucky team that should more than likely take care of business against Vandy, especially given that it’s a letdown spot for the ‘Dores, but if we all learned one thing this last weekend, it’s that you don’t doubt Diego Pavia.
Still, though, Kentucky’s defense is probably better than Alabama’s (who saw that coming?), so I think they should handle business. If Mark Stoops’s squad takes care of Vandy, as well as the Gators down in the Swamp the following week, they could have some serious momentum going.
Each of their next three games are very winnable ahead of a trip to Neyland Stadium. We just saw that the Vols are definitely beatable, so we can’t even write that one off. UK is in a much better spot than they seemed to be even just two weeks ago.
