Power ranking the SEC after week four: Shakeup near bottom, stability up top

We're beginning to get a much better idea of who some teams are, but some SEC football teams remain shrouded in mystery.

Power ranking the SEC after week 4 - #3: Alabama Crimson Tide

Idle this week, the Tide remain static in this edition of the rankings. Of course, we all know what’s coming up this week: the early candidate for the game of the year against Georgia.

The spotlight on this one will be so profoundly bright that it will wash out nearly every other game of the weekend. Kalen DeBoer is putting his stellar record as a head man up against Kirby Smart’s seeming dynasty-in-the-making. Who will emerge victorious?

I’m not sure I have a prognostication yet, though the Tide are certainly a bit better than I thought they might be. They aren’t as deep as other Alabama teams we’ve seen, but they have a true star receiver in Ryan Williams, something they lacked last year.

If anyone can hold up against UGA on the front lines, it’s Alabama. Oh yeah, and it helps that this one will be in Tuscaloosa. I, along with probably every other college football fan, already can’t wait.
