We're beginning to get a much better idea of who some teams are, but some SEC football teams remain shrouded in mystery.

Power ranking the SEC after week 4 - #2: Georgia Bulldogs

. . . Previous ranking: 2. . . 2. 527. b.

And here we have the Bulldogs, also remaining idle this week. The last we saw Smart’s squad, they were looking patently underwhelming against Kentucky up in Lexington, and until the aforementioned game of the year, that will be the picture that fans have of Georgia.

A win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa, as has been the case for the past fifteen years, would be a warning shot across the bow of the rest of the sport. Not that anyone is failing to take Georgia seriously, of course, but you have to think the Bulldogs are in a bit of a prove-it mode after what we saw against the Wildcats.

There are still a lot of questions for the Bulldogs on offense, but they may be able to get something going on the ground against the Tide. Trevor Etienne and Nate Frazier look like they’re the best tandem of backs in the country, and the UGA offensive line is as intimidating as ever.

Carson Beck is highly-touted as an NFL prospect, but the UGA receiver room is a bit lacking. Can he overcome that lack of talent (relatively speaking) in front of a hostile crowd? There are so many fascinating questions around this matchup. It’s the first of several huge games that the Bulldogs play this year, and it’s probably the one they want the most if I were to guess.
