We're beginning to get a much better idea of who some teams are, but some SEC football teams remain shrouded in mystery.

Power ranking the SEC after week 4 - #11: Vanderbilt Commodores

. . 537. b. Previous ranking: 13. . . 11. .

I don’t know, man. It feels increasingly like Vanderbilt may not just be fielding one of their best teams in years, but that they are going to bag a big win at some point this season.

That nearly happened against Missouri this past Saturday. In fact, it took double overtime for the Tigers to finally vanquish the upstart ‘Dores, despite a valiant performance by NMSU transfers Diego Pavia and Eli Stowers.

The Commodores will certainly have no shortage of chances to net a big win, either. Still to come: three games against top-five competition per the current AP poll, all of which are at home—not that that actually benefits Vandy that much outside of it not being in front of more of the other team’s fans.

Heck, even a win over Auburn, South Carolina, or LSU would be a huge needle mover for Clark Lea and company. It’s not all that hard to imagine—but we’ll need to see more of the Vandy of this past Saturday and Week 1, rather than what we saw against GSU.
