SEC win projections — Arkansas: 5.5

The Hogs made the controversial decision to keep Sam Pittman after a 4-8 year in 2023 that saw a very lost-looking Arkansas team muddle their way through the season. Now, Arkansas has lost their top two offensive weapons in KJ Jefferson and Rocket Sanders to the transfer portal. Can they really be expected to improve their win total after an offseason like that?

I’m skeptical. The return of Bobby Petrino will be hailed in Fayetteville, but only for a short time. Even he won’t be able to right the ship, I fear. While I’m personally hoping for the Hogs to pull off a shocker when the Horns come to town late in the season, I don’t foresee Arkansas exceeding this mark. A visit to Oklahoma State is no cakewalk in the non-conference, either. I’ll go UNDER for the regular season here as well.
