SEC win projections — Auburn: 7.5

Hugh Freeze, after a disappointing end to the previous season, is trying to kickstart this Auburn program to build some momentum in his second year. His plan? Just like at Ole Miss, get a lot of really tall and fast guys at receiver.

Is that enough to add two wins to last season’s total? Maybe!

The Tigers open with a very easy four-game stretch at home before they welcome in the Oklahoma Sooners. That’s the first of four games in which the Tigers need to go 2-2 or better if they wish to hit the over here. The others? At Missouri, at Kentucky, and at home against Texas A&M football. I’m chalking up Vandy and Arkansas as conference wins, and at Georgia and at Alabama as losses in this calculus.

The biggest question mark for the Tigers is their QB play. Even with a solid starter behind center, this will be a tall task, but I’m not super high on Missouri or Kentucky this year, so I think Auburn will go OVER here.
