SEC win projections — Kentucky: 6.5

Only in the SEC could you see a team ranked 23rd in the preseason whose projected win has them barely above bowl eligibility. The grind of this conference is unparalleled.

I think I can be forgiven for counting Southern Miss, Ohio, Vandy, and Murray State as wins. That means, to hit the over, the Wildcats need to win three of the following: South Carolina, Georgia, at Ole Miss, at Florida, Auburn, at Tennessee, at Texas, Louisville.

If you squint, I think you can find three wins in there. Carolina has only won once in Lexington in the last ten years, and is 3-7 overall in that span. Florida could have the light completely gone from their eyes by that point in the season. And in a completely non-hater way, I think Kentucky might be able to catch the Longhorns sleeping as well. Add in that a home contest against Auburn is a coin-flip, and that anything can happen in a rivalry game with Louisville, and I’m feeling the OVER for the Wildcats.
