Top 2025 Target for Texas A&M Football Sets Commitment Date; Will Aggies Be the Choice?

One of the top prospects in the state of Texas, and a top target on the board for Texas A&M football, has set his commitment date. LB Kelvion Riggins of Forney, Texas, has announced that he will be making his college choice on Friday, January 26 at 6 PM CST.

Riggins has been one of the most consistent names that has popped up with regard to Texas A&M football and the 2025 class. Even dating back to the previous staff, Riggins was a priority target for Texas A&M football and viewed as a cornerstone piece for what the Aggies want to do in the upcoming cycle, especially in Texas. The Lone Star State boasts a bumper crop of talent in this recruiting class; one that rivals if not exceeds what we saw in the 2022 class—and, of course, we saw how that cycle ended for the Aggies.

Will Texas A&M football be the choice for Riggins? No one knows for sure except the young man himself. Insiders have been positive, but there hasn’t been any sort of signaling one direction or the other. If I were to guess today, I’d think Riggins will be donning a maroon hat on Friday evening, rather than a burnt orange or purple and gold one.

I’ve had a good feeling about this recruitment for a little bit (though, of course, I am in no way an insider). It also helps that, at my last check, Mike Elko had been by quite recently to see Riggins up at his high school when the LB made his announcement that he would be committing soon.

We’ll have to wait for Friday evening to know for sure, but a commitment from Riggins would be a huge momentum boost, especially coming at the beginning of a big time junior weekend for Texas A&M football. Could this domino precipitate another? It’s certainly possible. We’ll have to wait and see.
