Ranking Texas A&M football's wins over Arkansas since joining SEC: 2017 (50-43, OT)

This very well could have claimed the top spot. It has all the makings of an extremely wild game: a shootout, a barn-burner, the Hogs were in knockoff Dallas Cowboys uniforms for some reason, the game was at noon… it was just strange.

However, that also all made the game feel a little less big time than some other matchups. The stakes simply felt lower due to an early loss that the Ags suffered against UCLA, and the Hogs were not showing as much promise in Bret Bielema’s final year in Fayetteville.

Christian Kirk was again a huge factor in this matchup. His kickoff return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter gave the Aggies life after it looked like the Hogs would finally notch a win against A&M. His overtime catch once again ripped the hearts out of the Arkansas faithful.

But it was Armani Watts that sealed this game, intercepting Allen in the end zone in overtime to bring the matchup to a close. The high drama once again fell the way of the Aggies, putting them over the top for the sixth straight game against the Hogs.

Arkansas would descend into darkness in the Chad Morris era, while A&M would move into the spotlight with their hire of Jimbo Fisher. This game sometimes gets forgotten, the final matchup between Sumlin and Bielema, but it was one of the wackier matchups you’ll see.
