Ranking Texas A&M football's wins over Arkansas since joining SEC: 2016 (45-24)

Now we’re getting into the good stuff. 2016 was one of the more exciting, nail-biting games in this series for about three-quarters of its duration. Once Trevor Knight hit Josh Reynolds deep down the sideline to score a long touchdown, though, it turned into a blowout.

The teams were tied at 17 after heroic efforts by both squads in the first half. Each score by one team was answered by the other, including a touchdown late in the first half by Arkansas that was answered with 16 seconds remaining by a nearly 50-yard run by Knight.

Austin Allen and the Hogs came into this game with designs on finally getting over the hump against A&M. They were riding high after an overtime victory against Kenny Hill and TCU, and were ranked in the top 25. They felt themselves to be more than a match for the tenth-ranked Aggies, and they nearly pulled it off.

But when things started slipping away, they slipped away fast. That long pass to Josh Reynolds put the Aggies up 24-17; before too long, the margin was 38-17 after a Trayveon Williams run and Christian Kirk catch.

This was just the right spot for Aggie fans: close and exciting for a lot of the game before decisively pulling away well ahead of garbage time. Arkansas fans… not so much.
