November 16, 2024: Texas A&M Football vs. New Mexico State Aggies
The Aggie bowl is renewed! Well... can you really give it that name if the two have only every faced off one time?
Back in 2016, these two played for the first time ever. Surprising no one, Texas A&M football emerged victorious, by a score of 52-10. New Mexico State is perennially one of the most moribund programs in the entire sport, often scheduled by SEC teams looking for a resounding win late in the year, so this result wasn't much surprise.
I think to many fans of the Maroon and White, this game might take on the same tenor when looking ahead. An easy, late-season matchup that should set up Texas A&M football well headed into the last week of the season. Right?
Well, as you might recall, New Mexico State is a bit of a different team recently than they have been historically. Jerry Kill has done wonders down in Las Cruces, culminating with a win over Auburn in the penultimate week of the season this year. It wasn't just a win, either: it was decisive. Texas A&M football will have to be ready for this one: it's not 2016 anymore.
Luckily, Texas A&M football has another bye week before this one. Woohoo!
