October 26, 2024: Texas A&M Football vs. LSU Tigers

The Aggies return home to face off against the LSU Tigers in their final game of October. This is the first time since 2013 that this matchup has not taken place on Rivalry Weekend, for reasons that I'm sure anyone reading this article will be able to surmise.

LSU will obviously be without Heisman winner Jayden Daniels, as he has exhausted his eligibility. Whether they turn to Garrett Nussmeier, bring up a current unknown or less-proven option, or utilize the portal to bring in a top name, we do not yet know. What we do know is that the Tigers, despite boasting top-10 rankings in two of the three last matchups, are 0-3 at Kyle since 2018. Granted, all of those games came under Jimbo Fisher, and there's a new sheriff in town now, but maintaining the home win streak against the Tigers would be huge.

It won't be an easy task, however. LSU is obviously always one of the top programs in the sport, and you'll have guys like Harold Perkins coming into their first year as upperclassmen. By this point in the season, though, the Aggies should be in a groove under new OC Collin Klein, and the skill on the roster for Texas A&M football can match up with any team in the nation.

I see this as a watershed moment for the 2024 Aggies. The first and final games of the year are the other two big ones, but this is the big midseason matchup that should draw a lot of eyes. In a year where the 12-team playoff will be embarking, this is a big opportunity to impress.
