Texas A&M baseball draws favorable matchups in College Station regional: Can Aggies dispatch Longhorns one more time?
The regional pairings for college baseball's postseason were announced today, and it looks as though Texas A&M baseball has earned themselves quite the favorable slate. After a huge number in the win column in the regular season, the Aggies, announced as the #3 seed overall, have been gifted one of the easier draws out of the sixteen teams selected to host in this initial round.

If you can't read the entire tweet above, the College Station regional has the lowest average power rating of the non-hosts—in other words, the other three teams that the Aggies might face aren't too tough. This is despite hosting an impressive Louisiana-Lafayette team who finished the year at 40-18.
The other two teams that the Aggies, who have reached the highest national seeding in the history of their program, will host are Grambling and Texas. The Aggies' only meeting with the Longhorns earlier in the year ended in a 9-2 win down in Austin.
Texas A&M baseball will face off with Grambling first, while the Longhorns and Ragin' Cajuns will square off later in the day. Grambling is .500 on the season at 26-26, and though they are a conference champion, this is definitely a game the Aggies should win.

The winner between Texas A&M and Grambling will face off against the winner of Texas and ULL. While A&M should be heavily favored in their matchup, things may be tougher for the Horns. The Cajuns are no pushover, and if Texas loses in game one while the Aggies win, it very well could come to pass that these two rivals never end up matching up.
In all likelihood, though, we will see at least one game where these two teams square off. The stakes are much higher now than they were earlier this spring, of course, but last time this was the case—in 2022—the Aggies had an even more dominant showing the second time around. It's always sweet to send your rival packing, and the Ags will have a chance to do just that this upcoming weekend.
