Post-SEC Spring Power Rankings: #1 - Georgia Bulldogs

. . . . 527. . 1. adfbhadfbadf. .

Even though the Bulldogs didn’t end up as conference champions, it’s tough to slot them anywhere besides the number one spot. Even so, this may not be a regular season from which the Dawgs escape unscathed.

Road trips to Tuscaloosa, Austin, and Oxford are all intimidating for Bulldog fans. That’s not to mention opening with Clemson, or a week two visit to Lexington, Kentucky. Yes, the Bulldogs should be favored in each of these games individually, but as we all know, the grind of an SEC schedule is unrelenting.

If I had to pick one where I’d be most worried as a Bulldog fan, it’s a toss-up between the Tide and the Rebels. The trip to T-Town comes after a bye week, yes, but this is a game that Kalen DeBoer no doubt has scheduled as the biggest must-win of his first year. Ole Miss comes between the Florida and Tennessee rivalry games, so that’s a spot to watch as well.

All that said, I still think it’s more likely than not that the Bulldogs finish with one loss or fewer. Carson Beck has some early buzz as a possible top pick in next year’s draft, and is a favorite to win the Heisman next year. RB Trevor Etienne is an instant-impact guy, as is WR Colbie Young from Miami. London Humphreys could be an underrated get for the Bulldogs as well.

Long story short, this is not a team you want to see on your schedule. They will run roughshod on your defense, generally beat you up, and leave you with a loss more likely than not. Smart has this machine humming along, and I’d be loathe to bet against him at this point.
