Post-SEC Spring Power Rankings: #10 - Kentucky Wildcats

. . . 10. . . . giubfpiaudnfbpindasgip. . 528

The Wildcats are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2023. After the drama with Mark Stoops departure-turned-non-departure, he needs a big year.

He’s picked up some pieces that could help him along the way to pulling off the kind of season he desperately needs. Brock Vandagriff, a high-pedigree QB from UGA, is now in Lexington, and Ja’Mori Maclin, the UNT transfer, could be a player for them as well.

Their main offensive weapon will no doubt be the explosive Barion Brown, however. The wideout from Nashville is a true burner and special teams star, and you have to think that the Wildcats will get the ball in his hands in any way possible.

That’s about it for the offense, however. Losing Ray Davis is not insignificant, as he was a true star for the Wildcats last year. Their defense has some impressive potential, bringing in guys like UGA transfer Jamon Dumas-Johnson, but Wildcat fans have had more than their fill of inept offenses paired with solid defenses.

The ‘Cats have an early game against the Gamecocks in Lexington that could be a bellwether for the rest of the season. Fall to Beamer and company, and you could be missing out on bowl eligibility.
