Texas A&M football fans know the old adage: build it, and they will come. In this case, of course, it’s more apt to say “keep winning, and then you’ll be taken seriously enough that the studio shows will come to your campus.” But that’s not quite as catchy.

It is also an unfortunate reality, as well, that the Aggies have done their fair share of winning early on in a given season, but have faltered at decisive points. This was much more of a trend under Kevin Sumlin, but we saw shades of it in Jimbo’s final year as well.

But here the Aggies are again: sitting at 4-1, and maybe somewhat shakily so. And here come the 4-0, top-10 ranked Missouri Tigers, fresh off of a bye, for the only ranked matchup of the weekend.

Being so, this is the matchup that SEC Network has chosen to spotlight for this weekend. Paul Finebaum, Roman Harper, Tim Tebow, and the whole gang will be rolling up to Kyle Field to see the Aggies take on the Tigers.

This one promises to be a quality game, too. Vegas has the opening lines as pretty razor-thin, so this is a contest that will probably be won on the margins.

In any case, Texas A&M football is getting some more publicity here in week 6. It didn’t go so well in the opener, but if they pull out a win here, the hype will continue to build. Here’s hoping we see just that.
