Texas A&M a step closer to NCAA Tournament after huge upset win over No. 9 Kentucky

The Aggies have stormed their way into a semifinal spot in the SEC Tournament. Upsetting the Kentucky Wildcats in a 97-87 victory, Texas A&M will face the Alabama versus Florida matchup winner.

Texas A&M finished the regular season with an 18-13 overall record but marched past Ole Miss and Kentucky to earn a spot in the semifinals.

With the two wins in the conference tournament, the Aggies sit at 20-13 overall and have a much better chance of earning their ticket to the Big Dance.

Fans absolutely loved TAMU’s upset victory over Kentucky:

Texas A&M held Kentucky to just 50 percent from the field and 11-27 from beyond the arc.

Wade Taylor IV shined bright for the Aggies during the SEC matchup and racked up 30 points throughout the game.

Tyrece Radford has 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists during the quarterfinal game to add to Taylor’s total.

The Aggies will play in the second semifinal game on Saturday, March 16. The first semifinal game is scheduled for noon CT and Texas A&M’s game will tip off approximately 25 minutes after the first one finishes.
