Texas A&M Aggies news: Aggie hoops moves on in SEC tournament to face formidable foe; is this football pro day idea a good one?

Here's your daily roundup of Texas A&M Aggies news for March 15.

The biggest story of the day for the Maroon and White was no doubt the Aggie Hoops squad surviving and advancing in the SEC tournament. The Ole Miss Rebels tried to make things close, but the Aggies ended up pulling away with some clutch free throw shooting. Now, all the Aggies have to do to advance is knock off the Kentucky Wildcats. Easy as pie, right?

It was also announced yesterday that the Aggie football program will be including, as part of Tuesday's pro day, several former Aggies. Not only will Kellen Mond take this opportunity to try to impress league scouts and front offices, hoping to break his way back into the NFL, but transfers Andre White Jr and Caleb Chapman will be participating. I know this transfer portal era comes with a lot of unprecedented results, but this is certainly a new situation.

The fourth-ranked Aggie baseball team, sitting at 17-0, faces a daunting prospect if they want to keep their win streak alive. They lay it on the line this weekend down in Gainesville, facing off against the 8th-ranked Florida Gators in a three-game series. Ace Ryan Prager will get the start in Friday's 5:30 PM matchup, followed by Tanner Jones and Justin Lamkin for the ensuing contests.

The hire of new Texas A&M Aggies AD Trev Alberts continues to make waves in the collegiate world. You have the Nebraska papers writing somber pieces about his departure, and now the governor of the state is taking the university to task in a public statement. For his part, Alberts seems fine in his new role.

I like this guy already!
