Here's the latest Texas A&M Aggies news from the A&M athletic department and around the country.

Hype is slowly growing around the quarterback for the Texas A&M Aggies, Conner Weigman. Conner O'Gara of Saturday Down South dropped a piece yesterday making the case for why Weigman, though often left out of these discussions, should be on the short list when people are considering which SEC quarterback will be All-Conference next year. It's tough to argue against a lot of the points he makes, even for rival fans.

LSU is pushing hard to flip five-star Texas A&M football commitment Terry Bussey ahead of signing day this Wednesday. After the Aggies hosted Bussey over this past weekend, A&M fans are hoping the Maroon and White are in the driver's seat here, but the Bayou Bengals are doing everything they can to nab the top athlete in the nation. How worried should fans be? Get the latest here.

Bill Connelly dropped his returning production metrics for the 2024 season, and the Aggies occupy the pole position in the SEC for that metric. They were high on the board last year, and it was reflected in the significant strides they took in their advanced statistical ratings across several models, even if it wasn't reflected in the win/loss column. Hopefully, under an improved on-field staff, we can see a huge jump in wins this upcoming year.

The Aggies got a much-needed win on the basketball court this past weekend. It was a nail-biter at times, even down to the very last possession, but despite giving up an offensive rebound in the final seconds, the Ags pulled out the one-point win over a red-hot Florida squad. The Aggies head to Missouri on Wednesday.

Texas A&M baseball will be getting ramped up in just 10 days from today, opening the season against McNeese. Braden Montgomery and Jace LaViolette were recently named second-team All Americans by Baseball America, signaling some of the high expectations that this Aggie baseball squad brings into the season. After a rough 2023-2024 so far, A&M fans are hoping for a big season from the baseball team.
