Texas A&M baseball adds another portal commitment as USC catcher Jacob Galloway pledges to Aggies

This run for Texas A&M baseball and Michael Earley, only days into assuming the mantle of head coach, is nigh unbelievable. Not only has Earley brought back nearly every single key piece from this past season's College World Series lineup, but he has now notched a pair of stud transfers to bolster that lineup.

First, it was Texas Tech's Gavin Kash, the top overall player available in the portal. Now, it is Jacob Galloway of the University of Southern California who has committed to the Aggies for next year.

Galloway is a catcher, and is likely slated to replace Jackson Appel, for whom all indications point towards the MLB draft. Galloway hit an unbelievable .365 in his freshman year for the Trojans, and looks to improve upon his prowess at the plate under the watch of hitting guru turned Aggie coach Michael Earley.

This is a remarkable run for Earley and the Aggies. This program looked like it might be dead in the water after Schlossnagle left for Austin and so many contributors jumped in the portal; now, they loiok like they're stronger than ever. The donor base is motivated. The fanbase is energized. All signs point towards an upcoming renaissance for Texas A&M baseball.

Galloway will slot in with a power hitting lineup that will be dreaded and feared by every pitching staff that has the misfortune of facing them. Jace LaViolette, Gavin Grahovac, Gavin Kash, Kaeden Kent, Caden Sorrell, Hayden Schott, and now Galloway as well—there will be no breaks for opposing pitchers come next season. If the Aggies can close on Wyatt Henseler, then this could truly be a record-setting lineup.
