Can Texas A&M baseball defeat Florida in their first College World Series game?

Texas A&M baseball is back to Omaha for the second time in three years under skipper Jim Schlossnagle. They open their time in the College World Series against the Florida Gators.

This will be the Aggies' fourth time facing off with the Gators. A&M took a trip down to Gainesville for the first SEC series of the year, which they dropped after losing two to the home team. These were actually the Aggies' first losses of the entire year, as A&M then (as now) had yet to lose a game to a non-conference foe.

Now, the two teams meet again in Omaha. Can the Aggies muster a good enough performance, even without Braden Montgomery, to defeat the Gators and remain in the winner's bracket?

Florida is one of the hottest teams in the whole nation. After barely squeaking into the postseason, they've taken on a much more intimidating form in the tournament, destroying their competition en route to the CWS. The Aggies will be hoping that their mojo has already run out.

The winner of this game will face Kentucky, who just defeated NC State. The loser will face the Wolfpack in an elimination game. If the first few games are any indication, the Aggies and Gators are in for a thriller; all three games that have been played so far have been walk-off victories.

The Aggies are starting Justin Lamkin, apparently looking to save Ryan Prager for a later game. Lamkin had a solid outing against the Gators earlier in the year, and it seems like Schloss is banking on history repeating itself there.

The Aggies and Gators first pitch is scheduled for just after 6 PM.
