Texas A&M baseball set to face Mississippi State in first round of SEC tournament: time, channel information

We’ve known the timing of the first Texas A&M baseball game in the SEC tournament for some time already. Now, after a thrilling game late last night, we know the opponent as well.

In the late innings of last night’s contest, Ole Miss led their rivals, Mississippi State, by one run. Down in the bottom of the 9th, the 5th-seeded Bulldogs needed something to happen quickly. With one man on third, down to their final out, State fans were on the edge of their seats.

Then, this happened.

Hard to not be romantic about baseball!

Ending your opponents’ season in dramatic fashion like this has to be an amazing feeling, and I’m sure State fans are still basking in the afterglow today. But their team now faces a huge challenge in the form of Texas A&M baseball.

These two teams faced off early in the season, in the Aggies’ first home conference series. It was a hotly-contested matchup, with the Bulldogs handing A&M one of their only three home losses for the entire season. The Ags emerged victorious in the series, but it wasn’t easy.

This was before A&M had really hit their stride in the year, though, to be fair. However, that hot streak has been somewhat tempered of late. Aggie fans are hoping an absolutely massive final regular season game against Arkansas can be the springboard into a big time showing in the tourney, although the Ags are one of the teams who doesn’t necessarily need a big conference tournament to feel good about their chances of being awarded a national seed.

How to watch Texas A&M baseball vs Mississippi State

First pitch is scheduled for 30 minutes after Vanderbilt-Tennessee concludes and will be aired on the SEC Network. The rivalry contest between the Vols and ‘Dores is slated to begin at 4:30 PM CT and will also be on the SEC Network. The winners of these two games will face off tomorrow, as will the losers. Neither would be an easy matchup for Texas A&M baseball, but that’s how things go in this conference.
