Texas A&M baseball's game against Florida delayed, possibly facing postponement
Texas A&M baseball faces weather delay; Will Aggies still play tonight against Florida in College World Series?
Well, so much for Texas A&M baseball and Florida having a 6 PM time for first pitch! The weather in Omaha apparently has some very different and definite ideas about when this game should be played, and it is looking like it may not be until late in the night that the Aggies get things started.
Due to storms rolling through the area at the moment, the original 6 PM time for first pitch has been delayed. As of right now, there is no projected start time.
Things aren't looking the greatest at the moment!
A quick scan of the weather radar reveals that the Aggies and Gators may have a window of opportunity sometime around 9 PM or so. If the storms move a little slower, though, it could end up being even later.
According to NCAA rules, games are not allowed to begin any later than 11 PM local time, which means that the Aggies could be playing as late as 2 AM or so—and that's even without the game going into extra innings!
One upside of this? The Aggies back in Kyle Field for tonight's George Strait concert will miss much less of the game than they had initially thought. Talk about a win-win!
Hopefully we can get this game played tonight. No matter what, though, the Aggies and Gators will be the next game that is played, according to the official rules.
