Texas A&M basketball set to face off with Ohio State at Reed Arena on November 15; Aggies looking to sweep home-and-home
One of the early signs last year's Texas A&M basketball team had a chance to be special was when they toppled a skilled Ohio State team in Columbus early on in the year. It was one of the early tests for this Aggie team; a gritty win that no doubt helped their case come tournament time as a quad 1 victory.
We now know the date for the Buckeyes to pay their visit to College Station. The Aggies' trip up to Columbus was just the first half of a home and home series, and the Maroon and White will look to sweep the two-game agreement this upcoming year.
Texas A&M basketball and the Ohio State Buckeyes are set to face off on November 15.
This will be the second Big 10 team the Aggies will play in the non-conference after it was announced back in April that the Ags would face off with national runners-up Purdue this season as well. Neither of these games will be cakewalks, as both schools boast solid squads and great basketball tradition.
As I mentioned, the Aggies defeated the Buckeyes earlier this year, by a score of 73-66. The Ags were ranked 15th at the time, and were led by Tyrece Radford's 21 points. Wade poured in 21 of his own to match Radford, along with 4 assists. Henry Coleman was instrumental as well, with 20 of his own. With 62 of the team's 73 points coming from these three guys, there wasn't much the "others" needed to do.
I'd love to see a more balanced effort in early preseason games like this one next fall. Wade has the talent to carry a team, but if he's not shooting well in a given game, things can stagnate. The emergence of Obaseki this upcoming season could be a boon in that respect.
