Texas A&M basketball secures a spot in the Charleston Classic
The Texas A&M Aggies are one of the eight teams playing in the 2024 Charleston Classic. While two of the teams in the tournament are stil to be determined, there are five other teams that are currently in. Those include Seton Hall, Miami, Oklahoma State, VCU, and FAU.
There are currently no details and timetable set for the tournament, but it is historically held in Charleston, South Carolina on the campus of the College of Charleston. Last year's champion was the Houston Cougars, who were ranked #1 for much of the year and ended up dismissing the Aggies from the tournament, as we all remember.
According to the website, the tournament consists of 12 games over a three-day period. Each team will play at least one game per day no matter what happens result-wise.
This will no doubt help the Aggies further increase their non-conference profile in the upcoming season. This was one of the big factors that helped them stay in tourney contention for most of this last year, even during the long losing streak.
More details are to be announced. We will have updates on the Charleston Classic and the Aggies' involvement here as they come along.
