Texas A&M football vs. Texas Longhorns

By this point in the schedule, the Longhorns’ depth—already stretched to the breaking point—will have pretty much have been entirely exhausted. I’ve written several times on this site that Texas and Oklahoma fans are simply unaware of the grind of the schedule that they’re in for; even though the Longhorns get the benefit of a road trip to Vanderbilt, they will learn that lesson well here.

It won’t help things that this game is taking place at Kyle Field, which will be filled to the brim with pent-up rage after 12 years of the rivalry not being played on the field. This will be an extremely long night for Texas fans, unless they turn the game off early—which I don’t doubt will happen in droves.

Quinn Ewers is who he is at this point: a sometimes brilliant, often inaccurate quarterback who is unable to lift his team to the next level. The pressure he will be under during the course of the evening will not be conducive to a transcendent performance, and he won’t give one.

Kelvin Banks may give Scourton trouble, but I don’t think that the rest of the Texas OL can stand up to the Aggies’ pass rush. On the other side of the ball, I find the Longhorns susceptible in the middle of the defense and on the back end—as Georgia, Michigan, and OU will do before this point, I foresee a big night running the ball between the tackles and tossing long, play-action bombs.

This could get ugly for the Longhorns, is my point. It’ll be made all the more sweeter for Aggie fans given the high expectations currently fashionable in the capitol—expectations that are all too quickly set to meet the cold light of reality.

Texas A&M moves to 10-2. Pending tiebreakers, I don't think this gets them in the SEC championship, but it should be enough for an at-large spot in the CFP.

Well, there you have it! Those are my predictions. They are subject to change upon seeing actual football being played, injuries occurring, or eating something unpleasant for lunch.
